When selecting the perfect bar stool, the first thing to consider is what type of decorative statement you are trying to make with this piece of furniture in your kitchen or entertainment room. From then you should find it much easier to decide on the style of bar stool that will fit in with your design. The furniture should compliment your overall decoration, whether it is traditional or modern. A mahogany bar and stools will probably not look good in a more modern home, for example, because this is a style of wood that is more traditional and classic.
Bar stools furniture is traditionally made of wood, but darker woods usually look good with a more masculine style while lighter woods will typically look better with a brighter and cheerier d'cor. A bar stool is also nicely complimented by leather upholstery, but if you don't like leather there are may other fine clothes that provide a nice alternative.
