My daughter is turning sixteen and I was looking for some unique ideas for her party. A friend of mine said she went online and found a lot of accessories and party favors for her daughters party. So, I figured I'd see what they have. I couldn't believe all the nice table accessories and party favors that were available. I found a lot of nice stuff I can use for her party. I found these cute little cookie cutters in the shape of the number 16 and use it to make cookies for the party.

Since it was her birthday, I let her decide what she wanted and she decided to party at the roller rink and have her friends stay overnight. I then made reservations at the roller rink in town. Next, came the invitations for all of her closest girl friends. It didn't cost as much as I thought it would. They offered pizza, hot dogs and soft drinks at a very reasonable price. I got the house prepared for the party that was to continue after skating. I put up decorations, fixed a table with a few goodies to snack on, along with the sweet 16 cookies I prepared earlier.

I ordered more than the cookie cutters when I went shopping online. Since I saved money on the roller rink deal, I decided it would be nice to get the girls a few sweet sixteen favors. Each of the girls got a disposable camera to take pictures of this evenings event and a pink photo album to store them in. They all knew about the cameras, so they could take pictures at the roller rink, but they had no clue about the albums I bought for them. Even though they took a lot of photos at the roller rink, they all saved some picture taking for the sleepover.

One of the favors was a cosmetic bag that had each girls initial on the front button. Along with that I also bought compact mirrors and manicure sets that matched their bags. I also sat out these adorable little favor boxes I bought online that were filled with candies for each guest. We left the rink and went home to have her sweet sixteen birthday cake and watch her open her presents. So, with all the other snack foods, soft drinks and the chick flicks we picked up on the way home, they were a bunch of happy campers. After they got tired of dancing to their favorite tunes, they decided to give make overs and manicures to each other. From all the noise and laughing you knew they were having the time of their lives.

When the noise starting dwindling down they got out the bowls of popcorn and started watching their movies. Even though I tried to stay out of the way, when they asked me to watch a movie with them, I jumped at the chance. That was such a nice thing to ask me to join them. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. All that was left was my daughter and I, at least for a few minutes. Just before she closed her eyes, she let me know how much she appreciated her super birthday party.

They ate breakfast and cleaned up everything left from the birthday party before I even got out of bed. I was very impressed with their thoughtfulness in helping me out. Most of the girls went home after a couple hours of hanging out with my daughter. Each of the girls said they had a great time at the party and they loved the sweet 16 favors I got them. So, I guess that makes me a cool mom, hey?
