As the Christmas season looms just around the corner, and celebrated each and every year, everyone is busy in decorating their houses with lots of Christmas decorations that give the necessary colors and feel and Christmas lights that provides the beautiful shine and colors for this special season that comes once and every end of a year.

Lots of Christmas decorations are placed and arranged by people from different countries around the world that celebrate Christmas. In the United States, the most common Christmas decoration is the Christmas Tree, followed by the mistletoe and Christmas lights.

The Christmas Tree could come in a variety of height, color and even materials. In fact, before plastic was discovered and invented, Christmas Trees used to come from real trees, particularly from Pine trees. Nowadays, Christmas Trees can be made of real pine trees or plastic depending on the person's preference. The usual Christmas tree is often decorated with different varieties of ornaments which are usually ball ornaments and shaped like candy canes but other ornamental shapes are very widely used by a lot of people these days. Topping off the arrangement of a Christmas tree is by putting the Christmas star or an angel at the top of the tree.

Another Christmas decoration is the mistletoe, which is traditionally popular as a Christmas decoration that is hanged usually on doorways and entrances. Mistletoe usually bears fruit during winter which is probably one reason why it has been associated with the Christmas season. A hanging mistletoe has also become a popular novelty Christmas decoration because of the "fun" and popular belief that if two people meet under a hanging mistletoe, they should kiss one another, given that one is a man and one is a woman. This tradition originated in Scandinavia where the presence of a mistletoe as a "plant of peace" was used to make warring factions declare truce and make spouses who are in a bitter fight or quarrel kiss and make-up.

Another decoration that gives more vibrancy and perhaps the most meaningful recognition for the true meaning of Christmas is the Nativity Scene. The Nativity Scene is an inanimate representation of how Jesus Christ was born into this world as a man. Together with His parents Mary and Joseph, the Nativity Scene decoration also include recognizable characters like the Three Wise Men, and other extras such as the number of shepherds and their animals, usually sheep, donkeys and cows.
