When you are in your kitchen there are always many ways to show it and yourself that you care. One great example to show your kitchen some love is by doing right by it and cooking inside of it a really great meal for your in-law's so that they will finally look at you as not just some bum who married into their family but as a serious and prolific chef; even if you are not one at all. But there is only one way to achieve this kind of Zen and it is not by ignoring your temple but by adorning it with all the tools of the trade.
You need to be sure that your kitchen is loved if you are trying to get love back from it. While this may seem to be as logical a conclusion as any, you would be surprised at how many come back clueless from this interrogation and the results are, not surprisingly, not ever very pretty. By this rationale your kitchen needs to be not only paid better attention to but thought well of, revered, regarded, even loved.
Is Your Home Just Good Or Great
Again as a point of reference you need to be aware of your standing in the world as it relates back to every room in your house but particularly for your kitchen. Do you show this room any love or not? Are there black plastic forks and knives all over the place and Kentucky Fried Chicken buckets or do you have some class? If this is a question that you even need to think about at all, then you need to think a little bit more about your kitchen. Have you taken time to really look at new designs for cupboards or kitchen islands, or are you still eating on paper plates?
While we're not looking to put a judgment call on you, the business of the business is clear enough. You need to be able to find your way in this haze of a life and taking your kitchen from just okay to great or better is the way to do it. In order to improve your quality of life you need to begin with the rooms in your home.
It's The Lovely
Once you have made quick work of all the trash and glam from your former life then you need to be able to trust your instincts. Where some things should go may not at first be clear to you; you may need to move things around, you may even need to tear down whole walls to get what you are looking for. But once you find it, you won't have any more questions about what you thought you didn't know. Making your way in the kitchen today takes a little bit of understanding, trial and error, and some luck on your part.
