Have you ever had a conversation that goes something like this? "How you feeling today?" The other person answers "I'm not feeling so hot and just don't feel like I can get anything done."As the day goes on the person who is not feeling so good almost always has a tendency to go with the feelings and be less productive and less proactive. It's easy to get all caught up in how you're feeling. You start to tell yourself that you're down and slow and before you know it your thoughts and feelings have become your reality. It's important to remember it's easier to act your way into feeling the way you want to fell than it is to feel your way into acting the way you want to act.
How many times have you started your day by laying around on the couch watching TV? Your level of activity is low and before you know it you seem to be moving slower, when you do get off of the couch, and your energy level continues to get lower and lower.
In contrast you wake up early, do some morning exercise, read a few pages from a book that you enjoy, listen to some of your favorite music, get cleaned up for the day and you're ready to go.
It'a a fact. Getting moving in the morning gets your day off on the right foot. Spending some time mentally preparing for the day by doing something that can help you think clearly, breath deeply, and give yourself the right energy to meet the day's challenges is a practice that can pay you back in rewards many times.
Certainly, we have to take our feelings into account. There are obviously times when life throws us curveballs that are difficult to deal with. Even though we may be thrown for a loop with some of the things that we encounter, it's still possible for us to put our feelings on the right path by adopting a plan of action that allows us to get our bodies and minds in motion and to change the way that we might feel about something that earlier might have blocked our progress.
Action is the secret. Move your body and get on with it. Sitting around and overthinking a situation only causes more doubts to come to mind. Along with the doubts comes frustration and indecision. Make your plan and work your plan. Charge on.
