Their worst defeat was by a team that was struggling to win a game, the Iowa State Cyclones had a three game losing streak but they snapped that by beating the Baylor Bears 71 to 62. This win was the Cyclones second since 14th January; Craig Brackins managed to score 19 points and 12 rebounds. Another 10 points a piece was scored by Diante Garrett and Bryan Petersen. Iowa State Cyclones made sure their lead at half time with a four point lead, with only 12 minutes left, Petersens lay up put the Cyclones ahead 53 to 37. The Cyclones maintained their lead until the games end.
In another disappointing loss, the Baylor Bears were beaten by Texas Longhorn 73 to 57. 16 points from Dexter Pittman and 14 points each from Justin Mason and A.J. Abrams ensured the longhorns won the game. For the Baylors, Tweety Carter scored 20 points. The Longhorns win gave them the record in the Big 12.
Away from the Texas Longhorns win, another Texas team, the Texas Tech Red Raiders also proved tough for the Baylor Bears. With 18 points each for John Roberson and Ian Voskuil lead their team to an 83 to 76 win over the Baylors. This win ended the Raiders losing streak of four games. Although the Baylors had lead with 12 in the second half, they were white washed by the Raiders.
The Kansas Jayhawks ranked 21st also beat the Baylors. Marcus Morris and his twin Markeiff contributed to the 75 to 65 win, the win ensured the Jayhawks their seventh consecutive victory. It is only after half time that Marcus scored the Jayhawks first eight points. Sherron Collins and Mario Little also played a significant role in the victory, they scored 16 and 12 points respectively. Marcus garnered 13 points.
The second ranked team Oklahoma added to the Baylor Bears losing statistics with a 78 to 63 win, this victory added to 12 the number of winning streaks the Oklahoma Sooners are enjoying, this also is the 30th time the Oklahoma Sooners have beaten the Bears since 1977. Oklahomas Johnson scored 3 point shots that led to the win, also key player in the win was Griffin with 18 points. Juan Pattillo scored 14 points same as Warren. The Sooners are the only NCAA division 1 team that has 24 victories; this however could be matched with Utah State if the win at Idaho.
It was only after the Sooners coach called a time out that they proved untouchable, by the calling of the time out; the Sooners were down 49 to 52.
Missouri Tigers also beat the Baylor Bear 89 to 72, the win only days after they had themselves lost their game. Leo Lyons had a career best scoring of 30 points. J.T. Tiller scored 10 points and collected 7 rebounds. DeMarre Carroll scored 25 points and collected 9 rebounds.
