What predisposes someone to cancer? If we knew the answer then strategies to prevent cancer could be implemented. Much research over the last few decades has elucidated certain characteristics. The purpose of this article is to educate people about the types of personalities which have a propensity to develop cancer so that they can embark on self development programs to change these characteristics. Awareness is the first step to a solution.
Some of the factors to be considered are.
- Self image - Those who don't value themselves.
Assertiveness - expressing what one wants and being confident. It was noted by Bloomberg et al. (1954) that the extreme desire to make a good impression blocked patients emotional outlet.
- Reserved people with a need for sympathy.
- The avoidance of conflict and a preference for socially acceptable reactions to avoid offending others.
- Needing to please others. Often described by others as to good to be true. These people often say yes to everything and on the surface seem really well adjusted individuals.
- People who believe that the source of control is outside themselves i.e. people who are not solution based in their thinking.
- Unable to express emotion particularly grief and anger. - People who control their emotions.
- Social support, someone to talk to
- Loneliness.
- Hopeless - " the future will be worse."
- Helpless - I cannot do anything about it.
In a nutshell we call this sympathetic dominance or highly strung. Tone is tension at rest. Have you ever balked at someone who is way too toned, whereas on the other hand a flabby person has very little. Both represent too much of one thing which is unhealthy.
Oscillation between parasympathetic and sympathetic activity is vital to health.
What causes Sympathetic Dominance?
The phrase armoring was coined by a student of Freuds named Wilhelm Reich which was essentially the process which leads to sympathetic dominance Armoring then is the way IN WHICH PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL DAMAGE IS ANCHORED AND THROUGH WHICH THE EFFECT OF A PERSONS TRAUMATISING PAST CONTINUES TO EFFECT THEM. Energy stasis. Stagnation be it of blood, lymph, the bowels and in this case the energy system can over time and often do have dire consequences.
CANCER BIOPATHY
The term biopathy just denotes "a disturbance in the biological function of pulsation in the total organism." This disturbance is most apparent in the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system elegantly mirror the ebb and flow present within life.
Most of life ebbs and flows. Winter/ Summer, breathing, heartbeat, oceans etc. people who are fairly armored can be said to suffer from chronic sympathacatonia. They are prone to panic attacks, pallor, clamminess, high blood pressure, eratic and rapid heartbeat etc.
Cancer is a systemic disorder, not just a tumor.
The cancer biopathy starts in early life, with a major component related to early childhood trauma, and the consequent respiratory block and suppression of emotions, and in adulthood, the individual has great difficulty establishing a love life, and eventually resigns from sexual pleasure, and from joy or meaning in life. This is known as frigidity.
The cancer patient possesses significant bio-energetic neuromuscular contraction and tension (armoring) that restricts circulation and oxygenation in certain body areas, notably the sexual organs. These people complain of lock jaw in the night, tight back and neck muscles.
The cancer patient suffers from a chronic loss, and gradual depletion of bio-energetic charge of body tissues. We are energetic beings. Imagine a slow seepage of life force a bit like a leak from your water tank in your car.
All cancer patients experience a highly dramatic shocking life experience which compounds their emotional resignation. The attitude of a person is key. feeling that there is no hope is a bad prognostic indicator.
The cancer cell originates from bionous processes, arising from the disintegration of the patients own energetically weakened tissues.
Demeo J; (1999) pp78-79, The Orgone accumulator Handbook, natural energy works, Oregon.
The shrinking of the life apparatus (armoring) occurs in 3 phases. One could see this as the inability to have pleasure in life. Ultimately it leads to resignation and dullness or as we say a lack of luster.
Phase of contraction :
It begins with chronic incapacity for vagotonic expansion and manifests itself in the character as resignation. Its physiological characteristics are muscular spasm, pallor of the skin, weakened biological charge of tissues, frigidity and anemia. This first phase occurs in all biopathies and is not unique to cancer.
Phase of shrinking:
There is a dimunition of body mass, an impairment in the integrity of the blood, weakness in the whole system and if unchecked a loss of weight.
Phase of putrefecation:
It is characterised by loss of Qi energy in the tissue cells. Imagine the body becoming a compost heap internally. The particular bacteria associated with this mileu are T-bacilli. There is a putrid body odor. This odor can be noticed in terminal cancer patients.
This can now be tested and is no longer just an observation. Blood cells are viewed under a special microscope. The blood cells of these people break up rapidly, that is in under twenty minutes. This reflects the strength of the energetic charge within these people.
The cancer tumor thus is merely a late, palpable manifestation of a severe disturbance of the orgonotic equilibrium and unitary function of the organism. It is a type of asphyxiation.
Can this slow suffocation be reversed? Yes! The next article will explore this more in depth.
