Now this is no secret, and the internet affiliate marketing world has embraced the concept, but they execute it very badly. How often have you seen upwards of 5 bonuses, with a 'value' of hundreds of dollars on a sales page - and 'all my give to you' when you purchase the product?

The problem is though that most of these bonuses are worthless. Some are PRL (public label rights) that are being offered by the next guy as well. Many are totally unrelated to the product that is being sold. The marketers are bulking up the offer to appear to be virtually giving it away.

The internet marketing experts who want to build long term relationships with their customers - their lifeblood - will offer bonuses with real value that relate to the affiliate product. Buyers are not idiots - if they are interested in a product for keeping healthy parrots, they don't want to know the best way to tune your car's engine. But they might just value an eBook that offers to show them how to teach their bird to speak.

If you really don't know a whole lot about the topic you can outsource the writing of your bonus to someone who does. There are freelance writers out there who already know about this topic, or who are prepared to research it to deliver a finished product to you.

The best internet marketing bonus offers are ones that are good enough to be stand alone products. If it is good enough, referrals by customers will see you getting requests from people who either don't want the affiliate product, or who had already purchased it, who just want to buy your 'bonus'.

So by taking the time to assemble a worthwhile bonus - you could be creating your own product for this niche. It may need to be expanded, but the bones are there.

Finally a big no-no is to offer an affiliate marketing bonus that includes a discount or rebate on the product. This will only get bargain hunters onto your list (and they are always the complainers too!), and you want buyers. It also devalues the product - something you certainly don't want.

Spending the time to create worthwhile bonuses will build your credibility with your niche and set up future products of your own to sell to your list.
