1. Many people try to cram too much information on their lead capture page. Remember that your primary goal is to get your visitor to give you their name and e-mail address. With that in mind you want to do that in the fewest number of words possible.
2. Your heading is extremely important because it's the first thing that will be read. Whenever possible try and include words like "you", or "yours". This shows you are putting the emphasis on your reader.
3. In the text of the body include hot keyword phrases such as "one time offer" or "free offer until". This helps encourage your visitor to act on your offer right away for fear of losing it in the future.
4. People browse the Internet for solutions to problems and your landing page should address the problem and then offer a solution to it. This is the reason that they will subscribe to find out what your offer entails.
5. Your opt in form should be above the fold on a webpage and short and easy to fill out. Never asked for more information then you need because your primary goal is get them into your autoresponder system.
6. Today people like to be informed in other ways besides just text and a good landing page also includes audio and video that a person can listen too and view.
7. Where you send your visitor will be up to you and your goal with them. One thing to do is send them to a thank you page where you provide not only with the offer you promised:, but also some additional one time only offers.
If you do affiliate marketing send your visitor through to a review page where you review a product before sending them to your sales page. This is an effective way to grow a list for the future and also to increase product sales by offering additional valuable information before asking them to buy anything.
In conclusion the landing page is a valuable tool when used correctly. You can do a large number of things beyond just increasing the number of subscribers to your mailing list. Doing more than just the basics such as adding audio and video is an important part of using them today.
