Contrary to the popular tag "anyone can do it!" I want to say here and now that this is so often not true. The fact is that many formulas for online internet marketing businesses are quite complicated and subject to lots of research and product appraisal, read time & money.

I am often dismayed by the cavalier attitude that some sales letters, 'pitches', have when telling prospective online business marketers how 'easy' it is to get rich by their formula.

Truth is that one size does not fit all. Any internet marketing 'guru' who tells you 'If you can copy and paste ... then you can make a killing' using his exclusive internet buiness marketing formula... should be considered with extreem caution.

For me the calmer the sales pitch, the more trust I put into the person selling.

This doesn't mean that you shouldn't trust a sales letter that gets you excited... I think that any good sales letter should fire you with enthusiam, BUT if the sales letter is peppered with words like 'Cast Iron Guarantee', 'you're an idiot if you pass this by', 'the most increadible formula ever', 'stuff your pockets with other peoples cash', 'Earn $1000 by next week!" etc etc then you can be sure that youa re reading hype of the highest order.

So who do you trust? Well those who have been around for a few years selling on the internet are always people to take seriously. For example Ros Gardner, Author of the Super Affiliates Handbook (link in box below) started off like you and I, trying out different methods to see which internet marketing business was right for her.

In her book she tells you of her mistakes and eventual successes... earning over $470,000 in one year... and explaines clearly how she did it.

Ros also runs a very informative and useful website that shares her knowledge and understanding of the online internet marketing business world and she writes for 'Revenue Today', the business magazine for internet marketing businesses.

This sort of profile would give anyone confidence to trust what this 'Guru' has to say, and take their advice.

Use the power of the internet to search for profiles of people who's advice you are considering.

There are literally thousands of different ways of getting into the online business world. I suppose one of the problems is that once you start looking you are litterally bamboozled by the sheer numbers of different 'formula', 'systems' or 'methods' that are hyped out there:

But as in the 'physical world' we aren't all naturally predesposed to doing any job. We all have our strengths and weaknesses.

What you need to do is to take a piece of paper, or sit at a screen, and be honest with yourself. What are you good at and what things do you always avoid.

Now look at each type of internet marketing business idea.

For example there is good money in writing and selling focussed articles that others want to buy and use for their website content. But in order to be successful at writing & selling these articles you need to be able to:

If these sound like the qualities that you have, then you might well like this way of earning an income on line.
