One of the first goals of every new website you create is probably to get some quality traffic - whether to ultimately buy your product, read you information or click on your ads, your new website isn't worth much if no one finds it or goes to it.
Article Marketing - the Free Traffic Booster
Of course there are a lot of ways to get visitors to your website, from advertising to trading links with other sites to getting your link into established link directories. All of these have their merits, but one of the easiest and least costly alternative is article marketing.
Lots of Good Things About Article Marketing.
Article marketing flat out works to get many incoming links to your website. You can get as many as a thousand links or more simply by writing unique content and posting it on article directories and niche sites that are always looking for new content. And, a side benefit of writing and posting articles is that you might get to be known as an authority in your niche.
Article marketing can be considered a hidden source of traffic - you don't have to advertise for traffic. Submitting articles can get your site listed in search engines quickly. The content you create causes search engines to index your page, including the link that you include in your "about" or "resource" box at the bottom of the article. The search engines follow that link and find your site - exactly what you are looking for.
It's Not All Rosy
You have to write original content (or pay someone else to do it.) Writing articles is actually easier than you would think, especially if you are writing about your product or your niche website. As long as you are writing about things you know about, writing a 400-500 word article can be accomplished in as little as twenty minutes.
Of course, you can always pay somebody else to write the article for you, and there are many services on the web now that allow you to get others to do the writing for you - for a suprisingly cheap price.
You have to submit the articles to other niche sites and article directories (or pay someone else to do it.) Submitting articles one at a time can be time consuming. Finding all the right places to submit articles can take some time also.
This effort can be outsourced too. There are firms that do the article submission for you. And there are software programs that remove much of the tedium from this process as well.
