Easiest Way To Win Any Battle
Duke Clarke
Most people see life as a struggle. That used to be fine with me; I played 14 years of football and know what it means to fight your way to the top. Dominating and overcoming all odds was in my blood, a badge of courage, the mark of a warrior, all of it fit beautifully with my testosterone driven competitiveness. But is it the best way to win?
People love the "I pulled myself up by my own bootstraps" stories. The old "I did it by myself and you can too" mantra of all online ads is the cry of success these days. But after all the fighting, struggling, extremely demanding self-discipline of thought and mind to battle the stress and fears, you can get pretty tired. If you are lucky enough to hang in there and finally see some results, it only lasts until the next onslaught of the hounds from hell that are coming after you, so you suck it up for one more round.
What if there was a better way, an easier way? I learned this better way in an odd place and it won't take me a manifesto or an expensive seminar to tell you what it is.
In 1980 I started studying martial arts in California. At 30 years of age I was almost twice the age of the kids in the studio. I studied for 5 years getting my black belt and sharing in the teaching responsibilities as all the black belts did. It was a Chinese style that had been adapted for street fighting. They called it a "soft style" as opposed the "hard style" of martial arts. What I mean by this is, a "hard style" takes on the attacker head on, directly blocking assaults and then attacking with force against force.
The "soft style" uses circular movements not to oppose the attacker coming at you but to avoid, redirect and use his energy against him. It takes less effort on my part, less injury and abuse to my body and I can walk away untouched having totally disarmed and neutralized my attacker. But what if your attacker is your own mind with all it's fears, doubts and worries.
Most people want to dominate, overcome and shove down their fears, doubts and worries. When they are faced with stress and pressure they fight back by trying to grab fear by the throat. While that may make you feel on top for awhile, there is a problem, because it comes back over and over again. That's because you never got rid of it. Now if you want to spend the rest of your life fighting over and over again—go ahead. I've found a better way.
You've probably seen this lesson if you have ever watched the old Road Runner and Wiley Coyote cartoon. The Road Runner stands on the edge of a cliff apparently cornered. The Coyote charges the Road Runner and at the last minute rather than fight the charge, the Road Runner steps effortlessly out of the way and the Coyote goes over the cliff.
This is not only the easy way, this is the best way to win, simply release the stress and the fear. What you resist, persists so why keep fighting against your fears and the stress in your life?
Don't think that's possible? Well, I am here to tell you it is. In fact it is your God given right to do so. God designed our minds to let go of the stress and the fears that so emotionally dominate us. I'm sure you realize by now that distracting yourself with endless positive thoughts doesn't work.
If you want the easy road to victory, instead of fighting your stress and fears, learn to let them go. Right now you may think that's impossible, but I assure you it can be done. The quickest way to learn how is to use EFT™, which is Emotional Freedom Technique. It's a simple way of tapping into your own body's ability to let go of stress and any damaging emotion. Once you learn this simple process you can easily shed your doubts, worries and fears and win your battles.
