These classes are taught by people who have both experience and knowledge with plastering ceilings and have learned several things that will help you be able to do the job easier and correctly the first time.
Saving Money in the Long Run
While taking a plastering class may cost a bit of money, the money you spend will be worth it when you avoid making costly mistakes. After all, wouldn't you rather take a class that costs you a little bit of money rather than create an even bigger problem that requires a professional to fix? If a professional does have to fix the problem, it will be much more expensive than the class would have been.
This is not intended to discourage you from engaging in a do-it-yourself project. Rather, you should simply consider the idea of getting professionally licensed help before you engage in a project the magnitude of plastering a ceiling.
