There is nothing worse than aimlessly going through your life, with anything. When it comes to Internet marketing, it can be a death sentence. The only way to really have success online is to set goals for yourself. Otherwise, you have no idea where you've been or where you're going. This article is going to share some of what I do to set goals for myself. I think you will find these tips most useful.
There are essentially two kinds of goals...short term and long term. We need them both. The reason we need them both is simple. Thinking only long term doesn't give you a clear cut view of how you're going to get there because you don't have the minute details to guide you. Thinking only short term doesn't allow you to grow beyond a certain point as you can't see the big picture. So you need both.
Let's start with short term. Let's say your short term goal is to earn $3,000 per month to start. What you need to do is think about what you would have to sell in order to make that income. This is going to depend on what it is you're selling. For example, for more details: www.blueprint-to-internet-marketing-success.com if it's a $20 ebook, you're going to have to crank out 150 of these a month, or five a day. However, if you're promoting a $197 a month membership, you only have to sell about 15 of these a month. Big difference in volume.
What about long term? Well, with long term, you want to think many products down the road. Fine, you're promoting a $20 ebook to start, but you probably want to think about what's going to come after that and after that. You always want to think four or five products ahead...each one building on the one before it. That's what's called your funnel, and every really successful business has one, for can visit: www.forum-marketing-videos.com unless they've got one killer product that has mass appeal. Those are very rare.
Long term you want to be thinking about what you want to be earning four or five years down the road. If you have a $40,000 a year business this year, then you should be planning to have a $100,000 business in another year or so and working towards having it. That means sitting down and figuring out how you're going to do it, either by putting more products in your funnel or doing more advertising to get more sales of your existing products.
There is no right or wrong here. The key is setting goals and doing what you can to meet those goals.
