General Ways To Prevent A Stomachache

As you grow old, the digestive system of your body becomes weak and cannot digest certain foods that it finds difficult to handle. Indigestion will probably make you aware of it, generally in the form of a stomachache. There are several ways you can adopt in order to prevent or soothe most stomachaches.
Work Out The Stress
Stress and tension can be one of the major causes for stomachache. In order to relieve stress, include some regular exercise in your daily schedule. Always try to go for a walk at least for half an hour on alternative days or on a daily basis. When you are physically active, you may notice that your bowel movements are regular which is helpful in case the constipation is causing you abdominal pain.
Warm Your Stomach
Turn on a heat pad at low temperature and put it on your abdomen till the ache subsides. Warmth over the abdomen gives some comfort. Nevertheless, if the ache continues for few hours, it is advisable that you inform your physician.
Do Not Overload With Fiber
Overeating is also one of the causes of stomachache. Eating more than the required amount of fiber and associated foods can cause abdominal bloating or gas. It is recommended and suitable to introduce fiber related foods in your daily diet slowly and in small quantity.
Loosen Up
If you get a sore or bloated belly, put yourself at ease by putting on some loose apparel. In addition, loosen your belt as well. If your t-shirt or pants are too tight, than switch on to trousers, pajama or sweat bottoms, which have larger waistband, till the time your stomach gets normal.
Mindful Eating
If you are maintaining the record of your daily diet, you will certainly improve your digestion in addition to quality of life. It is feasible to consume food only when you are hungry. You must also try to eat slowly, concentrate on your eating and taste every bite you take in.
Remedies For Some Specific Kinds Of Stomachaches
For stomachache caused due to of indigestion, following remedies are very useful:
1. A combination of ginger juice, lime juice and nutmeg (optional)
2. A combination of lime juice with black tea
For Acidity:
1. Boil the fried cumin into a cup of water for few minutes, strain and then consume the liquid
2. Chew 5-6 coriander seeds and swallow in its juice
For stomachache after the delivery:
1. Make a paste of onion, salt, green chilies and 3-4 pieces of cocum and consume it for several days after the delivery
For menstrual stomachache:
1. Take care of the food you eat during periods which can greatly lessen down the ache
2. Reduce sweet, spicy and salt consumption
3. Consumption of food at a stretch must be avoided
4. During this time, avoid intake of coffee, coke, tea, cold water and chocolate. Intake of herbal tea and lemonade works better
5. After the food, take Calcium supplements and vitamin B as this assists in reducing the stomachache
