As I am sure you are acutely aware, the seduction scene has been thrust into the mainstream of our social conscience because of "Pick-up Gurus" like Mystery (who has his own show on VH1 Called the "Pick-up Artist), David DeAngelo and Neil (Style) Strauss. These guys charge up to $5000 per 3-Day seminar for each student who wants to change from a wuss into a highly sought seducer of women.
Why do so many men spend thousands of dollars on boot camps run by Mystery's minions and so many other "Pick-up Gurus" out there when things should just come natural to you in this game of seduction?
The main reason is that most guys have underlying psychological fears of approaching and interacting with women that they cannot get over without utilizing some false routines that they can use as a security blanket while talking to women that they could not even look at without getting obscenely nervous.
Memorizing MM techniques and wondering if you are in the A3 stage of an approach or if you've started in the middle of a C2 instead, thereby really screwing up the major MM technique is complicating something that should come to you in a natural way if you have developed some inner game, but Mystery is making a small fortune right now selling this intricate method all over the world.
Which brings up the point of this article: How do you make sure that you are not getting ripped off by any of these so-called "Pick-Up Gurus" in the first place?
TAKE WHAT YOU NEED FROM "PICK-UP" GURUS- DISCARD THE REST
I feel the best way to really become a true seducer of women, instead of falling in the trap of becoming just a student of this great art, is to utilize just one of these crazy techniques that will help you overcome shyness in the beginning of your fundamental seduction phases and then progress to your own individualized game after you have decided what works for you and what does not.
I'm not telling you to stop going on all of these seduction websites and just totally disavow anything you've ever read by guys like Sean Messenger or Neil Strauss, but what I think you should do is study the techniques these guys espouse and analyze if their techniques are congruent with your own individual personality.
Mostly if you are considering spending $5,000 on one of their "Pick-Up Bootcamps", I would STRONGLY urge you to do a lot of homework on whether the bootcamp is right for you in every possible aspect of it. You have to make sure that people that have gone to these bootcamps and have said something positive about their experience with it are not paid shills by the guru who is putting it on.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BAD ADVICE
Also, examine their actual study groups that will occur at this seminar you are considering attending before you put one dollar towards the flight needed to get you there.
I would also recommend never buying audio CDs of any "Pick-Up Gurus" until you've actually heard samples of those CDs on the internet and you really agree with the exact style or techniques that you've heard.
I believe most of those CD sets really cannot help you out any more than most free video clips you can view for free on YouTube. A really great way to sample different seduction teachers on the web is by putting in the name of the man you are interested in learning from, such as Zan Perrion or Johnny Soporno, into YouTube's main search box and just start scanning different video clips for any portions of their speeches on general seduction categories such as "The Approach" or "Day Game Street Approaches."
You can then analyze the benefit of those clips and then decide if your money could be spent better elsewhere or you can also decide exactly which video/audio CD would fit your personality the best.
