Now that it's vacation season, many people are looking at timeshares, vacation homes, hotels, RV parks, and camping grounds for their next winter getaway. My point in this article is to show you to a new alternative to visiting the same place all the time. Shouldn't we get a better choice now days?
While I was considering the possibility of purchasing a resort unit in another country, I was interested in a friend's new beach community he was developing in another country. I am friends with the owner and I had been hearing about this incredible opportunity for years. I was fascinated by the possibility of owning a place in another country. I was seriously considering buying it. I had been speaking with other people I know who had bought property in that country and was very encouraged by them and I had no reservations right away about buying the property except for a few things that crept up later and were now on my mind. For one, it was a lot of money to invest in this new community. I secondly thought about having to maintain this property on top of already maintaining two of my properties right here in my town, and that was enough already. Expenses, we likely to pop up that were not accounted for! I also thought of the possibility of hurricanes and other disasters occurring to this country, as it is in "hurricane alley". There were definite considerations with owning a property in another country such as this.
I explored another option and leaned toward something I thought was a bit more safe, a timeshare? I looked into it and found that timeshares at the resorts that were close to where I was considering buying, were approximately $3-$7,000 and much more for others. This was much less than buying an actual property in another country. But I had some reservations with the timeshares as well. My main one was what I mentioned earlier, experiencing someplace different was my main reason to get away in the first place. The timeshare limited me to one particular time per year and I would get to experience the same place over and over again until I sold it. I would have had some ability to swap. But this swapping is not often easy or able to be done when and where you want it to happen. Plus, the timeshares came with yearly maintenance fees.
It was during this time when I searched and found out about a timeshare alternative. It is based around a network of 5000 4 and 5 star resorts located around the world in 60 countries. The concept is different in these ways, there is no owning of any particular unit, all resorts in the network are available to the member, thier family and guests, all resorts are available during any time of year. The ability to travel to 60 countries and be a member of 5000 resorts, is a new option and alternative to vacationing.
Between the time I was considering this property and now, that country I was considering buying property in was directly hit by a massive hurricane! I was ver relieved that I had not had any property down there that had to be worried about.
There are often alternatives to any one way of doing things if we just look for them. Don't think you are stuck with the norm. Today, there are more choices and higher quality ones too. If you are looking into vacation options, find out all you can before buying into just one place! Experience something different each time!
