Which is considered the most dangerous of all the mental disorders? Which one takes the prize? It's depression! And it's not just that so many people suffer from it (with estimates up to 95% for some age groups) or that it can lead to suicide. What makes depression especially awful is the fact that when someone in a household has depression, it damages EVERYBODY.
I'm sure you can see why depression would be considered so dangerous, but there's something that makes it even more rotten, and that's the very rapid increase in rates of depression world wide.
In fact the World Health Organisation says that by the year 2020, the cost of depression will even be greater than the combined cost of all the cardio-vascular diseases (that's heart disease, artery disease, diabetes, etc)!
So naturally there's a lot of interest in doing something about depression.
The big problem is that research and development of treatment for depression is being driven by, you guessed it, the big drug companies. And the best answer they've been able to come up with so far is the class of drugs known as the SSRI's (serotonin selective re-uptake inhibitors) that work by keeping your serotonin active in your brain for longer before being "reabsorbed".
The SSRI's have been around long enough now for us to have seen some very serious side effects, not just while people are taking them, but especially when they try to stop them! Maybe we could tolerate that if they worked, but the evidence is that they're no more effective than sugar pills. This is why you shouldn't be surprised if your doctor is wary about handing out that prescription!
SO THE DRUG DOESN'T WORK, NOW WHAT?
It's an obvious question, isn't it? Well there is certainly an alternative approach. It was developed in Australia, and it's backed up by a huge amount of solid research world wide. It doesn't have a marketing budget, so it relies on word of mouth to get the news around. And the news is indeed good. This approach has proven to eliminate even moderate-to-severe depression in just days, without any drugs whatsoever.
It's very important to share exactly what this approach is - too many people depend on it. Firstly it's important to take an inventory of at least 17 lifestyle mistakes that are known to have the potential to actually create depression. Secondly it's important to use a set of therapy techniques that actively eliminate depressed thinking styles in the brain. This is absolutely NOT cognitive behaviour therapy, which is certainly no better than the SSRI's! These new techniques are known as BMSA (brief, multi-sensory activation) and represent a true breakthrough in neurophysiology.
WHAT DETAILS CAN I GET ON THIS NEW TREATMENT STRATEGY?
