Fellow Wii users as I surf the net and visit forum after forum I am amazed on the amount of questions there are regarding Wii Homebrew. Could this be because it's a relative new kid on the block or is it because there has been such a big growth in Wii sales over the Christmas period? Or is it the financial meltdown that everyone is experiencing that is forcing people to find cheaper alternatives for new games.

Wii Homebrew is software that you download from the net and install on your Wii Console. This is completely Legal Software and will not void the warranty on your Wii. The reason for this is that it is software and not a mod chip (peace of hardware) that you need to install.
