Different Types of Bottled Water |
People generally may not realize it, but there are six different types of bottled water, the classification being standards set by the FDA. They are as follows. 1.Spring water is the most popular. This is water that must come to the surface of the ground and be collected from there or from the aquifer from where it originates. 2.Purified water is that which has been through one or more man-made processes to purify or distill it. It is usually sold in large containers for household use. 3.Mineral water must have a certain percentage of natural minerals, not have them added after gathering. 4.Sparkling water is that which has natural carbon dioxide in it at the time of sourcing. Extra may be added after the purifying process, which usually removes some. Labels can read "Sparkling Spring Water", Sparkling Drinking Water", or "Sparkling Mineral Water". 5.Artesian or artesian well water comes from a source of underground water that has accumulated on underground rock or sand. The water may be collected from a point some distance from the rock or sand. 6.Well water is water that has been bottled from a well drilled into the ground above an aquifer.
