Imagine owning your own villa in Bali, tucked away somewhere in Legian Street, Kuta. The early morning sunshine greets you and after a bit of stretching, you go to your garden, sit on the porch, lean back, and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee under the clear, blue skies. Well, no need to imagine anymore because you can actually start your day and have that experience at Kopi Pot (except for the “owning your own villa” part, of course).
Located along the Legian Street, Kopi Pot provides more than just coffee, tea, homade cakes and desserts. It's like having your own garden on Kuta's main street. Built on an elevated lot, you will certainly enjoy its peacefulness and serenity, away from the hustle and bustle of city living. In the food business for more than 15 years, Kopi Pot has been and still is a favorite spot for breakfast, lunch, and even a romantic dinner.
It's a multi tiered garden eatery; most tables are on the tropical garden-style patio, sheltered by tall trees. If you want to steer clear of the street noise, the Lone Palm Bar might be a better option. It's an octagonal gazebo with a mosaic façade, and can accommodate up to 16 diners. Breakfast is served with a complementary cup of fresh coffee. If you come for lunch or dinner, Kopi Pot offers an eclectic mix of traditional and western cuisine comprised of soups, salads, steaks, and sea food.
Start by having the delicious Salad Nicoise (Rp 32,000), topped with fresh tuna, hard boiled egg, anchovies, and olives. If you prefer a steaming bowl of soup, go for either the Cream of Pumpkin or the Cauliflower and Leek soup.
The most popular main course at Kopi Pot is the Sausage and Mashed Potatoes served with onion gravy, served in generous portions. Loosen your belt a little more and treat yourself to a Sirloin Steak (Rp 93,000), with a choice of baked potato or french fries and crunchy vegetables in a smooth pepper sauce. The lean and tender meat is shipped from New Zealand . Non-red meat eaters may try the Red Snapper Meuniere (Rp 43,000). This boneless fish fillet is cooked in browned butter with lemon juice and parsley, served with sauteed zuchini and potato wedges. For a Balinese meal, order the Ayam Betutu , chicken cooked in a spicy Balinese sauce. This was by far the best Ayam Betutu I've ever tasted.
Cap your meal by having a slice of Kopi Pot's sinful Black Forest, arguably the richest dessert in town and I'm not the only one who's saying this! Likewise, their Mango Cream Cheesecake and Chocolate Mousse simply melts in your mouth.
For a three-course meal, one might shell out about Rp 125,000, which is higher compared to other nearby restaurants. However, the Kopi Pot dining experience is worth every single rupiah.
