Are men writing poetry in secrecy?

By: Jo Arnes

Most men will never openly admit that they would like to writepoetry. They can tell you about their rock song lyrics, but youwill not hear the word poetry come out of their mouths. Thereason for this is obvious. Most of them are scared of beingviewed as feminine, and love poems are for women. Right?

Still, many of the great poets in history are men. Based onthis, there are reasons to suspect that there are those whowrite poems in secrecy.

But there is hope. Ironically enough, technology can turn out tobe the solution for an insecure poet. Instead of becomingembarrassed over writing poems, he can now enjoy the freedom ofthe anonymous Internet. By creating a pseudonym and signing upas a poet on a free poetry website, a poetic man can finallyshare poems with the world. One such free poetry website can befound here:

So at last, a man can share poems without having to worry aboutwhat colleagues or friends would say. Happy writing
