Age of Conan Guide : End of Week 6-15-08 Review

By: kamper

What happens when a tard guild "raid-rolls" through the zone in Age of Conan? Do you run? Not on my server! We got a PvP raid group and kicked some ass! At peek we had about 4 and a half groups in the raid, the screenshot at our site shows 3 and a half. (I actually almost forgot to take any screenshots, when I am in deliberate PvP, my heart gets racing and I am usually totally focused)

We totally wiped them over and over, we even let them rest and buff up before the rounds. If you look at the screenshot, you will see that they have the spawn location behind them, even giving them a greater advantage. It was massive fun; however I do need a new computer. In 10 vs.

10 I do fine even with Necro pets around, however when it gets to 20 vs. 20 or 30 vs. 30, I do lose massive frame rate. At first I thought it was server lag, however I was on vent and when I was in the middle of less then 1 fps, my buddy next to me was still getting 20 - 30 fps. I know I have a crap computer, (2 gig ram, 7600gs, 3500 proc) so I will be looking for a new comp very soon.

When I first hit Kheshatta with my DT, there was only one instance for those few days. Now less then a week later 3 instances are common, and 4 are common in primetime. Players are leveling very aggressively; this brings up a problem that Funcom needs to work on at a more expedient rate. Funcom has already said they will be putting in new areas and quests, since there is nothing to do but basically grind 50 - 80 as it is now.(AOC actually needs this NOW) Since you get much better exp grinding, you are actually being forced to group, this is not a good thing for gamers. My guild has already been asked, by more then one guild, to be assimilated into the guild. Of course this happens over the course of a normal MMO, but to happen so early after release, is a little scary. The small guilds know that they cannot level in Kheshatta, unless they have some kind of backup, and small guilds have no backup at all.
