Top Ten Ways to Boost Your Ebook Profits

By: Richard Gilbert

With the hundreds of eBook sellers on eBay alone it can take a little something extra to make sure it's you that gets the sale. So, what are you doing to separate yourself from the crowd? Well, it's all about being a little creative and staying ahead of the competition. Why not try out some of these ideas and see if you can really begin to boost your profits.

1. Encourage bids and sales by giving away a little content of your eBook. For example, create a few "screen grabs" of a few pages from your book. This will give your potential customers a little insight into your book and hopefully create a little interest in what the rest of the book may contain.

2. Have you ever thought of actually splitting up for eBook into short reports? Perhaps there is only one chapter in your book that a customer is interested, if you are forcing them to buy the entire product they may opt against purchasing from you. If you split up your book into many smaller portions and offer it at a cheaper rate, you will be able to sell to your customers exactly what they want.

3. Do you have other similar eBooks to sell? You could create a little package of 2 or 3 three eBooks that you think your customers will be interested in. This could gain more interest from potential customers if you are able to offer more products, as most sellers would only be offering the one eBook.

4. You could also state that you will send them free updates whenever you add new content to your book. This will keep your customer happy long after the initial sale and will keep you fresh in their minds as a quality seller.

5. If you prefer you could always charge for updates ,but perhaps offer them at a discounted price as they are already loyal customer of yours.

6. Like with physical products, you may see many eBay sellers offering discounted shipping on multiple items, well, with eBooks they are of course digital. However, this doesn't mean you can't offer discounts in other ways. Think about giving your customers the chance to buy additional eBooks for half price.

7. Create a simple newsletter and give your customers the opportunity to sign up for free. You can now email them whenever you have any news .For example, a new eBook you are releasing or similar products you think would be of interest to them.

8. Grant resell rights to your eBook. This means that whoever buys your eBook will then be able to resell the eBook for you. This is especially effective if, inside your book you have links back to your other products and website. Or, even better, if you have affiliate links earning commissions placed within your eBook. Before long you may well see your book being sold all over eBook. And that best part is that others are doing the work for you!

9. Why not turn portions of your eBook into articles and post them all over the Internet on various Article Sites. This will give you the chance to create back links to your site and more of your own products. So, even though you are initially giving something away for free, in the long run it could turn out to be far more effective.

10. If you're eBook is quite bulky in content then why not try to re-creating it as an actual website. This will allow you to easily add additional content any time you wish. Instead of charging for an actual book, by having your own site you could set-up a monthly membership scheme where customers pay a set amount each month as you add more content.

I hope this has given you some new ideas to show you don't just have to settle with one method to sell your eBooks. It's about being creative and doing something that the competition hasn't even thought of.
