Root Cause of Bulimia & Dangerous Eating Disorders

Scientific findings are beginning to show that not only what you eat, but the time of your meals and various nutrients that are ingested can actually have amazing affects on both the moods and behavior of humans.

These new studies are also showing that food, and the nutrients contained within certain food can be used to treat various problems like insomnia, chronic pain, depression, and even bulimia.

I am founder of new self recovery program from bulimia have taken these findings one step further and used them to reveal both the cause and the cure for bulimia, an eating disorder that many people deal with.

Back in the 1980s, scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that that eating foods containing certain nutrients can actually affect and change the chemical balances of the brain.

These studies also hypothesized that by changing the diet you can change the way your body feels and they way you behave as well.

One example of these findings is that many people feel relaxed and calm after eating foods that are high in carbohydrates, and the studies showed that eating these foods can actually raise the levels of serotonin in the brain, which is a brain chemical that actually is associated with those feelings.

These studies again correspond with cure for bulimia. Chemically, low levels of serotonin contribute to the continuation of the bulimic cycle.
Since those suffering from Bulimia have very low serotonin levels, the problem is actually within the brain and the amount of brain chemicals released within. In this case, the lack of seratonin actually affects the behavior of people, and while many people turn to drugs for help, a more healthy cure for this problem is available.

Since those who are dealing with Bulimia have low levels of seratonin in the brain, the logical cure would be to elevate those levels of seratonin.

Some doctors use various drugs to try and accomplish this, but since diet and the nutrients in the food have been found to affect mood and behavior, what you eat can actually help you recover from Bulimia.

When those suffering with Bulimia crave food, it is not actually the food they are craving, but the nutrients within the food that affects the levels of various chemicals within the brain.

Once you can realize what your brain is craving and lacking, then you can tailor your diet so that your body receives what it needs.

While the saying: You are what you eat, has been around for many years, recent studies are actually proving that saying to be true.

Moods and behaviors are actually affected by what you eat. Instead of trying a variety of medications to combat Bulimia or instead of totally giving up hope, it may be as simple as changing your diet to win the battle over this problem. I am recoverd bulimic and I am offering help and hope for those who are suffering from this problem.
