First of all you have to see which graphics card you are using. The NVIDIA and ATI are the most popular graphics card companies. They offer some vast rang of graphics cards with excellent service. When you know what graphics card you are using, then head over to the website of the companies where you can find and download the latest drivers for the particular graphics card.
The drivers actually working as software that runs your graphics card. Being up to date with latest drivers will help you to solve issues that may arise with modern PC games. One of my friends has updated his driver recently to fix a problem for his new game.
After downloading driver make sure you create a restore point using the utility System Restore. This can be done by Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools and then System Restore. Then follow appear instructions to create the restore point. This is just for sure that if a problem occurs after you installed the new drivers, you can return to the restore point to see if the problem is the drivers you installed.
Now you need to install your drivers. This can be done by double clicking on the file that you have downloaded and then you follow appear instructions. Then don't forget to restart Windows so the changes can show results. How can I forget that be sure you have the latest version of DirectX. It is easily available on internet.
I hope everything is going according to plan you should see an increase in performance in your games and you have no need to go back to restore point. But if unfortunately you do have problems, then don't take any tension just use your restore point to go back and fix the problems. If the problem continues, then contact your graphics card provider.
