The clam shell is a bit heavy when compared to other phone in the category but makes up for it with its superior quad-band connectivity and other similar necessary features. Its superior network reception makes sure you never have to loose any call, no matter where you are. Li-Ion battery gives a standby and talk time of 450 hours and 4 hour 30 minutes which is among the best in any category.

The Motorola E550 has an inbuilt mp3 player and also equipped with video playback capability to keep you entertained all the time. Separate speakers are used to play polyphonic ring-tone and mp3s to enhance the overall experience. Connectivity through Bluetooth, USB and serial cable also adds to the appeal of the handset. Inbuilt Java games and re-mixable midi ringer software -'Motomixer' have the ability to keep you glued to the handset for hours.
