Sony Ericsson S500i - it Understands your World

By: Samuel Herrick

If the orange and black combination of the Walkman phone has already bored you, then probably its time to gets another doze of visual treat from the house of Sony Ericsson, with its new launch - the Sony Ericsson S500i. The handset comes with a unique aesthetic appeal, brought out alive with its clever illuminating effects - a theme that has been apparently inspired by the Nordic light. The Sony Ericsson S500i comes in two colour schemes: mysterious green and spring yellow. These colour combination also shout about the Sony Ericsson S500i love for the Nature.

Sony Ericsson S500i comes with three themes available to the users. These are clarity, ever-changing and day &B night. Amongst all, the one that makes the most compelling features is the theme of ever-changing. Here, animated wallpapers and illuminated colour menus keep changing with time and seasons. For example, in daytime, the screen shows floral wallpaper lit by yellow rays with coloured butterflies, appearing at random; while at night, the same theme shows fireflies flying randomly.

More, the wallpaper changes every month to match the seasons with different colour themes. Seems like the overall designing of the phone has been done in a way to let the phone harmonize with one's environment. And to make the pleasure of Sony Ericsson S500i more exclusive, the themes of the handset has been designed to be exclusively compatible to the handsets only.

In terms of features, the competency of Sony Ericsson S500i is quite less. It has a basic 2 MP camera and a decent music player (which can support audio formats like MP3, AAC, and AAC+, E-AAC +, WAV, WMA and m4a). The internal memory of this handset is around 12 MB and the users are provided with Memory Stick Micro card slot for more storage capacity. The Sony Ericsson S500i is rated for up to 9 hours of talktime and 15.4 days on standby.
