The Sony Ericsson W880i: Built for Musical Fashion!

By: Mark Hirst
The Sony Ericsson W880i has received different responses. Some thought that it lacks functionality on its tiny keys and so Sony Ericsson has developed a newly improved Walkman mobile phone. The Sony Ericsson W890i is the successor of the W880i. Its design and performance is far more superior to its predecessor.
The W890i addressed the problem that the W880i faced. As the users of W880i experienced, the keys are really small and would make typing very hard and painful. The keys of W890i are now well humped which really provides decent tactility. It brings relative ease when pushing the keys.
In terms of size and shape, the W890i Walkman phone only weighs about 78 grams and has a thickness of about 10 millimeter.

The Walkman phone has the appropriate combination of load and footprint while the brushed metal design brings the W890i solid and firm quality touch to the body frame.
In addition, the W890i has a button on its left for the Walkman functionalities. The volume controls and camera shutter are also located on the right side. It comes with a 2GB Memory M2 card which stores hundreds of music and files. It also comes with a high resolution 3.2 megapixel camera. The camera is a great improvement from the W880i predecessor. Beside the camera, it also has an FM radio embedded inside the mobile phone unit.
Even though it is relatively thin, the W890i packs a lot of great features. It supports quad-band including the 3G/HSDPA technology. The HSDPA capability enables fast web browsing and downloading. Because of this capability, the W890i has a preinstalled Google Maps Version 2 mobile program. The mobile program provides estimate on locations which is very good for navigations. The multimedia interface of W890i is also well defined. It has a SensMe feature which creates playlist based on the song's mood and tempo.
Sony Ericsson continues to improve and excel by introducing the W890i Walkman mobile phone. On that note, the Sony Ericsson W890i is worthy of a close consideration.
