3G Technology at Its Finest the LG Kf700

By: Mark Hirst

When one hears the tern "3G" one thing comes to mind; a mobile phone. What it stands for is actually very basic. 3G or Third generation technology is what powers most of the released mobile phones today. It is responsible for enabling users to have a bigger and far more advanced means to communicate to other mobile users. One popular example in the video calling feature that allows you to see the person you are talking to. 3G technologies is also the brainchild of an innovation known as the HSPA or High Speed Packet Access and the newer version which is the HSDPA or High Speed Downlink Packet Access. It enabled a possibility of using mobile phones the way a computer can be used for downloading and browsing the internet.

Most of the mobile phone units sold with 3G functions are those with the typical monitor with alphanumeric keypad handsets. It clicked in the cellular phone industry until the touch screen smart phones came to the scene. Touch screen technology have somewhat removed the instances of having finger cramps from constant dialing on alphanumeric keypads. But for some, the touch screen feature appeared to be complicated to use. They would still prefer to have finger cramps than freak out.

Since this has become one of the concerns of mobile consumers today, LG electronics was able to figure out a way to let people experience the best of both worlds. The LG Kf700 is a touch screen mobile phone that when stressed out on keying in texts by touch screen can easily slide it down and an alphanumeric keypad comes out. That is a mere definition of sleek. The Kf700 provides a functional option for those who are still in doubt of using a 3G smart phone.

Because the LG Kf700 is a product of 3G technology, it allows video calls, video captures, and even image captures through its 3 mega pixel capable lens. The camera can do automatic focusing at any zoom and should light be an issue; a flash is ready to provide light support. What makes this mobile phone more useful is that it can store files like MP3 up to 2GB the most due to its expandable memory should a 90MB internal memory is insufficient. Making use of the HSDPA technology, offering a speed of up to 3.6mbps, together with WAP and HTML, makes browsing through the internet a breeze.

Despite the ingenuity comprising this new gadget, having others who have tried the product unsatisfied is really hard to deal with. The downside to this 3G mobile phone is that it has a stand by time of only 280 hours so using it for entertainment should be balanced if you are expecting an important call some time within the day. Others have found the LG Kf700 as a bit cheap with regards to its look since other touch screen handsets are really appealing on one glance. However, what it lacks when it comes to the looks or design, it does make up for on what's inside.
