I Just Want to Text the Night Away

It's a matter of fact that nowadays we just simply can not cope without our mobile phones in close vicinity. As a result, it is the majority's preferred form of communication and one way to get a quick message across to somebody is by sending them a text message.

are sent every day and many people, young and old, spend a lot of time sending messages to friends and family. The popularity of texting has magnified over the past few years and companies have seen this and now offer deals that aim to attract those looking to send more messages than make phone calls. When signing up for a mobile phone contract you will be given various options and there are plenty deals designed for those who love to text.

There are various types of text and the most popular is "". This is simply words that are abbreviated, this is useful as you are restricted in the amount of space you have for your text. Text talk is most common amongst the younger generation so they can say more in a short space. As well as sending text messages, some phones are able to send picture messages, not all mobiles can do this but the majority of the new phones are able to. Additional items that can be added to a text are emoticons, which include smileys (cartoon faces showing various emotions).

Most networks offer unlimited texts for a set price but if you choose pay as you go, the options can reduce although there are providers who offer deals such as; if you top-up a certain amount each month then you receive a set number of texts. The popularity of texting has shot through the roof; people send texts about everything and anything! Typical texts are about organising nights out, keeping in touch with friends and family and finding out how somebody's day has gone.

The popularity of and, in particular, text messages is visible. Many TV shows are now offering entries to competitions via texts and shopping giant Amazon has set up its new "TextBuyIt" scheme where customers can do all their Amazon shopping by text.
