Mobile Phones on a Budget

By: John Gray

Mobile manufacturer Nokia have announced a couple of new phones for those looking for style on a budget. They have brought their Prism and Sports ranges down to more affordable costs.

Firstly the Nokia Prism 7070, this is a very low budget clamshell or flip phone. It has the same unique prism styling as the Nokia 7500 and 7900 - but will be much more affordable. The reason for the cheapness is the lack of features, the Nokia 7070 is a dual band, with 11 Mb of internal memory and GPRS. And that is pretty much it, it is missing a camera, Bluetooth and music player - but then if you are looking for a budget phone you aren't really going to be looking for those features are you? The Prism 7070 will also be available in two colour options, black with pink accents or black with blue accents.

So if a unique looking Nokia flip phone is your thing, then look no further than the Nokia 7070 Prism when it is released in late summer 2008 for the tidy sum of around ?50.

If you are looking for something with a little more substance, but still quite affordable then perhaps the Nokia 5000 sport will be up your street. It is similar in styling to the Nokia 5310, and has pretty decent features for a budget mobile. You get a 1.3 megapixel camera, radio MP3 player, Bluetooth, GPRS and even email support. Of course this will bump the price up a bit but you should still be able to get the Nokia 5000 for around ?80 when it is released in summer 2008. As with the Nokia 7070 you get c choice of colours and the Nokia 5000 in Cyber Green, Neon Blue and Perfect Purple can be yours.
