Whether you are busy at work or sleeping after a long time, you can expect a strange tone coming from anywhere around you. It has become a common behavior where people forget their cell phones and hurry off without realizing the fact that their ring tones create a complete nuisance for the people behind. The ringtone either leaves you absolutely disgusted or on the other hand attracts you so much that you are forced to stop the person and get the ringtone transferred to your cell phone.

Mobile ringtones have become a complete reflection of a person's choice, his or her individual taste and the mood in which a person is. They range from sweet tunes to some real creepy voices, from an old fashioned "tring tring" phone tone to the sound of water cascading over a waterfall. All you need to do is imagine a sound and you will find it as a ringtone next time.

By looking around us we can feel that all entertainment based services are particularly youth driven. Youngsters are crazy about ringtones, videos and music collection. Whenever they party around, they pull out there phones out of their pockets and put them on table, and they'll pick each other's phones and start digging for latest cool things such as ringtones, music, games and other mobile content stuff. Our young generation makes all the efforts of staying unique and cool by downloading the latest ringtones.

The three popular ring tone types are monophonic, polyphonic and true tones. A monophonic ring tone can play only one type of musical tone at a time, while a polyphonic ring tone can play several types of tones at a time. A true tone is encoded with a high fidelity format like MP3, AAC or WMA. Latest cell phones include polyphonic sound capabilities that allow all kinds of music to be set as a ringtone.

These days popular concept of Karaoke has also been embraced into the ringtones called as "sing tones". With the help of software, the user's voice is recorded and synced into the tune. After that the "sing tone" is transferred on to a mobile phone handset, just like any other ringtone transmitted through a wireless device.

The new mobile handsets allow users to associate different ringtones with different people in their contact list thus personalizing each contact with a specific ringtone. Several websites display a 'Top Ten' ring tone chartbuster list along with providing a list of popular international song artists' composition of their famous songs for ring tones. The Crazy Frog ring tone was the first mobile ring tone, as per reports, to top the pop charts in Britain.

In the end, we can say that mobile ringtones is expected to become the hottest service in demand over the coming years and the most popular consumers of mobile ringtones are from the youth sector. The best thing about mobile music and ringtones is that you can instantly get hold of it, making mobile a "perfect channel" for instant music access.
