Mda Touch: an Excellent Product in the Smartphone Market

By: Adam Caitlin

Product of HTC, the MDA Touch is a excellent product in the smartphone market. Talking about the manufacturer, HTC has been around for ten years in the mobile manufacturing; and it is considered to be the market king when it comes to the Windows enabled mobile handsets, thanks to the wide variety of classic designs available.

One problem that HTC has been facing relates to the designing front. All its products are fundamentally very similar. Yes, there is 3G, WiFi, keyboards, touchscreens features and even GPS feature in the phone, but underneath in the bottom line they're all binded somewhat by the fact that they run on Windows.

Here in the MDA Touch, the manufacturers instead of supplying it with a standard Windows Mobile implementation, this time with Touch they've chosen to give a different colour. There is a technology called TouchFLO, it has made the mobile phone very much easier to control and navigate with a finger rather than a stylus.

HTC say that the product Touch has "an animated, three-dimensional interface... the interface [that] can be spun by swiping a finger right or left across the display.. TouchFLO also enhances finger touch scrolling and browsing of Web pages, documents, messages and contact lists".

Looks familiar? The Apple iPhone, the product which is sharing love-and-hate relationship has a similar interface.. as does the LG Prada, the product of LG. This is the first time users of mobile phones are witnessing such an interface on a Windows phone. Well, one advantage that the HTC Touch has over the competition is its ability to run on Windows Mobile application.

HTC Touch runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system. It's a tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM device with GPRS, EDGE, 802.11 b/g WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The 240x320 pixel display is 2.8" in size and can display in up to 65,000 colours. The internal memory in the phone is 64MB of RAM, and there is a 1GB microSD card in the standard sales package. Not to forget, on the back of the HTC Touch comes with a 2 megapixel camera.
