Medaverse has this week announced their new game, especially made for Nintendo's WiiWare service.
The game, titled Gravitronix, will see 1-4 players battle it out in a single screen arena using weapons in the form of the shapes in the logo below.
Each weapon will have different physics and features which will set them apart from the others. The control scheme will apparently be easy to learn, while containing a great deal of depth and techniques which will set experienced players away from the rest of the pack, making for a very addictive experience.
Medaverse's lead designer, Jesse Lowther has greatly appreciated the chance that Nintendo has given them with their new WiiWare service,
"We're immensely grateful to Nintendo for giving us this opportunity [...] As a creative team, we had always toyed with the idea of game development and we even had an RPG in the planning stages during the height of the GBA's popularity. We had all but given up on that dream, but when Nintendo first revealed the Wii remote to the world, that dream came back with a vengeance. Once WiiWare appeared on the horizon, we knew it was our chance."
The new WiiWare service seems to be a hit amongst developers, giving them the chance they always wanted, but could never receive before. Hopefully we will see more and more of these exciting indie developments announced in the near future.
