Finding The Right Alliance Leveling Guide

By: Janesmithston
So you've just come across a bunch of leveling guides for WOW that focus on the Alliance. Which one do you choose? On the one hand, there's this really lengthy looking guide that seems popular, but on the other than there's another guide that promises to get you from 1-70 in a shorter amount of time. Do you pick the popular one or do you pick the shorter one?

The fact is that there are many differences in a WoW leveling guide, and it is especially true among the Alliance leveling guides. A lot of the good guides have sections dedicated to your specific starting location, race, and desired level growth; others won't have any of that information, and instead will just have a general guideline of what to do until you reach a certain point or level.

l A good WoW leveling guide is detailed – Having all the information, such as what items to keep, what monsters to hit (such as yellow mobs, for example), and what quests to take is important. Omitting some information (such as what items to buy from auction houses) could leave you at a disadvantage when compared to other players, and that defeats the entire purpose of a leveling guide.

l A bad WoW leveling guide is too general – Grouping all of the player types together at the beginning isn't good. It will be confusing and won't be very much fun. This is also true of later on, say when you are going from 20-30, as being too general might leave you wondering what to do next or if you're in the right spot to begin with.

l A good WoW leveling guide follows its own time line – If a guide says that it can level you from 10-30 in 3 days, it should be able to do that so long as you follow its exact instructions. Sometimes people follow guides but forget to do certain things such as complete a quest or pick up a side quest because you are going to pass by the turn in point later on.

l A bad WoW leveling guide doesn't note important items or events – The completion of a quest almost always yields money and items. A good WoW leveling guide will mention these items and what they can be used for, either immediately or later on, and whether or not you should put them into a bank or sell them. A bad Alliance leveling guide will ignore all of those points, leaving you to figure it out on your own.

l Following the guide exactly as it says will level you in the time line that it specifies or at the least, very close to the same amount of time.

As an Alliance player, make sure that you find a guide that has been designed for your faction. You won't be able to follow a Horde leveling guide at all. Keep in mind that you won't always find a guide that has information about your specific class. That's ok as most of the time, you can still follow it. In the end, a WoW Leveling Guide will make you a better WoW player and I bet you will even have more fun leveling.
