Max Out Your Ipod And Get Free Ipod Movies

By: Andrew Castlewood

Have you got a new iPod? You're not alone. It's one of the fastest-growing consumer electronics products in the world, having sold more than millions of units since its introduction in 2001. Just look at people in your local cafe, on the bus or at the university campus and you'll see those tell-tale thin, white headphones stuck into ears everywhere.

But like all technology people don't really know how to make the most use of it - they are only tapping into a tiny percentage of what it can do. Just think about your PC - do you have any idea how to get the most out of or what it can really do if it is set up correctly? Well the same applies to any other gadget like the iPod.

For example - do you know how to get a movie onto your iPod? And where to get one?

This is a huge growth area - simply download a movie to your iPod and take it with you. Ipod movie downloads are everywhere if you know where to look. ITunes is of course the main site for the iPod and it is possible to download ipod movies, music and TV shows or podcasts. This of course is a pay per download service, but there are many opportunities to get cheap or even free movies, trailers and clips.

Often these sites are providing educational content, or trailers to full movie downloads, but for a small one-off fee you can also get access to large numbers of files that are shared by others across the world - budding movie directors!

So what are the steps to get a movie off a website and onto your ipod?

It's very simple: Go to a video download site and search for what you want. Select the movie video that you'd like to download.

Select the right format to download it in - probably labelled "Video iPod". Then download it, probably by clicking the "Download" button.
Save the video to a location on your PC.
Then Connect your iPod to your PC. Open the Apple iTunes program.
In iTunes, select "File" then "Add File to Library" Then look for the video you downloaded, and click "Open".
Select the "Movies" tab.
Check the box labelled "Sync movies".
Then finally Click "Apply".

Now that's OK if the site you've found has them in the right format - but what if they aren't? Again this is easy when you know how. You have to convert it into the right format. You don't need to be a techie geek to do this, just spend a few minutes learning a simple piece of software and you can then convert movies to ipod format anytime you like. You just need to get hold of an ipod video converter and then convert the files you have downloaded to MPEG4 format.

iPod video downloads are very easy to access and joining a membership site with a very affordable one-off fee that even a teenager can afford - and then you've opened up a world of content and you can max out you iPod with hours of downloads to watch whenever and wherever you like!
