Beginners Guide To Rc Planes

By: Vgevge
RC planes are fun to fly and if you are a beginner, you are always filled with excitement and want to get your hands on your model. But before you can 'be in the sky', there are certain things you should know about these models.

First, there are many types of RC model planes, but the ones which a beginner can use are the park flyers and trainers. But the best models to learn how to fly are the trainers just like their name suggest. But while buying a trainer, you should consider a number of factors. First, your trainer should be easily repairable. In the course of learning how to fly, your plane might be damaged and so it's important to buy a model with fewer parts which can easily be fixed. You should also choose a plane whose parts are easily available. You don't want to keep your new plane in the garage just because its parts are not available in store. Your plane should also be stable enough while in flight to make it easy for you to control. It's advisable to ask those who have used them, how good they are!

The control set up of RC plane models vary too. Some have very basic controls, others have primary controls that allow you to have full rudder, throttle and elevator control and some trainers have advanced set up with more options and inputs. For a beginner though, primary control is all you need. Check also that your plane has essential accessories and equipment like a battery charger, batteries, radio device and so on.

Model RC planes don't always come as fully assembled pieces. They come in three forms; these include, ready to fly, almost ready to fly and kits. The ready to fly models don't need much assembling after they are bought. What one can fix includes the wings, ammunition and other small outer parts. The almost ready to fly are not fully assembled and so the buyer has to assemble most of the parts. And the kits come as chips and parts which one has to assemble from scratch. Assembling of the kits can take a few hundred hours to thousands of hours depending on the size and type of the plane you have bought. Nevertheless, it fun to assemble your own plane and then watch it fly.

Flying RC planes is fun; but fly one in a place with no people and no obstacles. Then you should check if someone else near you is using the same frequency as you. Sharing the same radio frequency will interfere with your controls. You should also check the direction and the strength of the wind. Always fly into the wind and it's advisable to fly in the mornings or evenings when the wind is calmer. Lastly, be calm while learning, it's a sure way to learn fast and prevent plane damage.
