By: Jeff Farley
You've determined that your computer's registry is corrupted and not working properly. How do you fix your registry errors and get your computer running like it should?

First, perform a system restore. A computer with Windows 2000/XP/Vista should allow you to open the following utility form:

Start- All Problems- Accessories- System Tools- Backup (System Restore in Vista)

Once it's running, choose a restore point. If you are aware of the datethe problems started, pick a restore point before that date, and thenfollow prompts.

This should fix your registry, though problems could remain. You mayneed to go back even further, or there might not be any restore pointsavailable if they were never created

At this point, you will need to edit the registry and get rid of theerrors yourself. This article will give you instructions on this longprocess

If you are well-versed on windows registry and know what you are doing, open the registry & make your changes. If you don't know how toopen the registry editor, STOP NOW. This could damage your personalcomputer permanently.

The safest and easiest way to fix your registry is to use a registry cleaner, even if you work in IT or you're an advanced computer user, is to use a reliable registry cleaner program like RegCure A professional registry cleaner will do the following:
