Sony Ericsson's Walkman Series or the W phones cater to the sensibilities of avowed music lovers. Member of this consortium, the Sony Ericsson W880i phone has a dual appeal. It has a stunning appearance and a multitude of features that define a Third Generation phone. The handset comes in two colors - Steel Silver and Flame Black. The surface reflects a subtle metallic sheen . The phone is recognized as the slimmest phone in Walkman Series. It weighs light with just 71 grams and is encased in a 103x46.5x9.4 mm dimension handset.

The keypad is designed to accord comfort and ease to users. The chief navigation control is positioned immediately beneath the screen. It is encircled by a bright red frame. The navigation button is surrounded on two sides by a set of keys that form arcs. The key alignment cumulates an extraordinary graphic effect, rendering style to the handset.

As a music phone, the Sony Ericsson W880i concatenates a series of features that constitute its music functionality. It has a Walkman 2.0 Music Player. The MusicDJ melody composer concedes a user the opportunity to compose his/her own tracks. The phone constitutes a unique technology called PlayNow. This enables a user to connect to a server and request a song that is absent from the phone's playlist without downloading it.

The walkman phone subscribes to another mechanism called TrackID. This allows a user to find the details of an unknown or unheard song. Mega Bass permits him/her to equalize music for improved sound effect. An A2DP Stereo Bluetooth is also installed in the phone to facilitate access to and exchange of music between compatible devices.

The tri-band phone claims proficiency in technology and is equipped to sizzle the auricular sense with its sheer variety of music features.
