Think of the name JCB. Now think of what image the name JCB conjures up. What are you thinking of? I bet it's diggers... Well, now, you have something to imagine when you hear the name JCB: the JCB TOUGH PHONE.
The heritage of the JCB TOUGH PHONE is plain to see. Just like the diggers it was inspired by, this is tough, reliable, and most of all, bright yellow. As soon as you look at the phone, you'll see the hints of it being a JCB. As I said, it's bright yellow, which is itself is really eye-catching. But then, you'll see it's also got a rubberised shell. And if you touch the phone, if you hold it and have a play with it, you realise just how solid this tough little beast is!
Basically, the JCB TOUGH PHONE feels like it's hewn from solid rock. The body is hardened, and it's rated up to IP53. What THAT means is that it's resistant to shocks, dust, water and impacts, and it will work without problems in a massive temperature range. You can even see the ways they've achieved this when you look at it. If you take a look at the back, you'll see the battery cover's is held on by a turny screw type arrangement, instead of just clipping on. It's things like that that make the JCB TOUGH PHONE as hard as nails.
Of course, it also has a few nice little touches, the biggest one (that made us grin like idiots), is that noe of the ringtones is a digger starting up!
So, why should you get the JCB TOUGH PHONE? Well, it doesn't have a camera. It doesn't have Java. It doesn't play videos, or music. There's no way you could ever call it a 'gadget'. But if you see someone with their iMegaHyperPhone sneering at you, just take the time to remind them that, unlike your JCB phone, they can't use theirs to hammer nails in. Now, THAT's a skill I like to see in a phone!
