Home Remedies for Blackheads - the Things You Need to Know

Blackheads are small dark spots that are caused by a tiny plug in the follicle opening on the skin. It is due to the excess oils and makeup. It gets accumulated in the sebaceous gland ducts. The blackheads should not be squeezed as squeezing it is not advisable. This leaves an enduring scar on the skin. Blackheads are actually the whiteheads that appear dark. They appear on the shoulders and face, but may also develop on the arms, legs, trunk and buttocks. This is common in teenagers, but can develop at any age. Treatment for this depends on the seriousness of the condition.

There are many home remedies for blackheads, so before you go to an expensive salon for extractions, try some items that are available right in your own kitchen or bathroom! Oatmeal, almonds, lemon juice, honey, tomato, egg whites, witch hazel, cinnamon and old toothbrushes are all effective home remedies for blackheads. Some of them work as scrubs, some as masks and some affect the skin chemically, but all of them help blackheads, have easily available ingredients and are super low-cost.

Steaming can be done as often as twice a week but for no longer than 10 minutes at a time. This is a great way to clean out pores and loosen blackheads.

Make a paste of ground radish seeds with water and apply on face to remove blackheads.

Almond powder mixed with rose water and made into a fine paste. Now this paste is applied on black heads to see the marvelous results in black heads and other skin ailments.

A mixture of lime, honey, salt and curd is used as scrub to remove black heads.

Honey warmed in water and is applied on the affected part helps in softening the black heads.

Tea tree oil is good for blackheads and all other acne due to its anti-bacterial and antiseptic qualities.

Coconut oil and jojoba oil feels nice on the skin and helps to heal any scarring.

Try not to eat sugary foods, greasy foods and foods that contain iodine. Try to keep your vitamin A levels at your recommended daily amount.

Mix fuller's earth or multani mitti and gulab jal (rose water) and use this face pack on normal skin. This face pack will make your skin smooth and will remove Blackheads. This is one of the best home remedies for blackheads.

Make a paste using water and radish seeds apply it on blackheads, allow it to dry then wash it off. They are safe and effective skin treatments. This home remedy is helpful in to get rid of blackheads

Combine ? cup of hot water with 1 tsp of Epsom salts and 4 drops of iodine. Mix well and let it cool until it is lukewarm. Dip cotton ball in to the mixture and apply on the affected area. When the mixture dries, remove it gently with a washcloth.

Mix almond powder or oatmeal with rose water and make a soft paste. Gently rub it on your face, leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse off with cold water.
