By: Kris Koonar

Nursing is such an honorable profession. It entails a lot of giving, sharing and loving. A nurse should have plenty of TLC (Tender Loving Care) for those who need it. For any individual, it is a completely satisfying job, in every aspect; whether physically or emotionally. Except for a few rare cases, most nurses are the epitome of patience and gentleness. They are around, when you really need attention, and are really selfless about it. In today's world, it is becoming a fad and is catching on fast. That is, to go abroad and work as a nurse.

There are a lot of men and women alike who have ample experience as well as good education to easily opt for a nursing job abroad. Globally, it is catching on at an amazing speed. If you go through your local newspapers or even surf the net, you will see the amount of advertisements for nurses to go abroad and work. Countries like New Zealand and the US need experienced nurses to apply. The recent onslaught of jobs is also because there are very few youth who are opting for nursing as a career in their own country. And hence there is a tremendous requirement for the same.

For someone who wants to travel and see the world, this is a great idea. You will get to experience new places, which is amazing. You need to always remember that English is a medium of global communication. Ensure that you have the basic knowledge of spoken English. Also, make sure that you pick up some basic knowledge of the local dialect, so you don't have a problem. Language is very important. As communicating the right information is crucial to a patient's well being and health. If you have knowledge of French, Cantonese or Arabic, then choose a country where these languages could be put o good use. It would help you.

Also, you need to make enquiries for nursing travel agencies, which are reputed. It is no good if you get fleeced and land up with no work permit in hand. Be wise and sharp when dealing with an agency. Ask to see their Registration number or certificate, a mandatory requirement for every agency. Check with the Nursing Bureau or government authorities if this agency is authentic. Proper groundwork is of great importance. Make your selection based on proper knowledge and awareness of rules and regulations, laws in regard to a particular country, etc. In case of any doubt, always consult a senior or take advice from someone in the Nurses Bureau, before you jump the wagon, and head for distant shores.

It should turn out to be a memorable experience for you and should take your career to heights that will leave you completely mesmerized. Take your talent and abilities to other places, where people can be benefited by your contribution as a nurse. It is a great career, a great job!
