Weekend Treats: Candy Corn Cake

Food trip is the common denominator for people to get together and enjoy and therefore, when you have enough skills in cooking, you are gifted to have the capacity to develop friendship also. More importantly, food trip plays a role to develop a strong family bond.

When we want to enjoy our weekend with our family, one thing that can be done is to prepare food and share it to all the members. Then, the next thing that would arise in our mind is to find what particular dish should you prepare for them. For moms, you may consider baking a candy corn cake. This recipe will surely make your family enjoy the weekend bonding.

So, if you really desire to bake a candy corn cake, you can take not the following ingredients below and start your special candy corn cake.
You need:
-2 cups all-purpose flour
-2 cups granulated sugar

-1 cup buttermilk
-1 cup hot water
-1 cup vegetable oil
-1 cup cocoa powder
-1 teaspoon salt
-2 large eggs
-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-2 teaspoons baking soda

1.In a large bowl ( enough for beating), beat the first 6 ingredient using electric mixer; beat it with a medium speed until it is blended and then stir it buttermilk.
2.Together, stir 1 cup of hot water and baking soda; stir into butter; and then stir in your vanilla; and then pour it on a 9 inches cake pans (greased and floured).
3.Put or bake into your oven at 350*F ( that is 175*C) for 30 to 40 minutes or until when you notice (after checking)that the wooden stick you used comes out clean. After you determine that the cake is already cooked, cool in pans or in wire racks ( whichever you prefer) for 10 minutes. And then, remove the pan when it is already cool.
4.Then you have to freeze layers within 30 minutes; cut each later in your desired pieces or preferably (8 wedges).
5.Followed by pipe frosting on sides and top of cake wedges to make candy corn. And, using a medium star tips; white pipe frosting on the small end of each cake, yellow frosting on its center and then orange on wide end.

For Buttercream Frosting Ingredients, we have the list below:

-1 (2-pound) package powdered sugar
-1 cup butter or margarine, softened
-1/3 cup milk
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-Yellow paste food coloring
-Orange paste food coloring
1.You need to beat butter using electric mixer at medium until fluffy; gradually add powdered sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Then add milk, beating until spreading consistency. Mix in vanilla.
2.Then do the food coloring. Stir orange food coloring into 1 and 1/2 cups frosting. Stir yellow food coloring into 1 and 1/2 cups of frosting.

So, after you have made the generated product, you can now serve this to your family and/or to your friends. You can develop a strong bond with your family.
