IT Certifications; It’s About Your Skills
When in the job market, searching for different career opportunities, I had the privilege of speaking with many different business owners. They had the opportunity of reviewing my resume, analyzing my experience, and checking the credibility of my work. However; it seemed to be that when it came down to the interview, all they really wanted to know was what I could do for them. What are your skills, and can we rely on you to get the job done? To me this appeared to be the most important question any of those prospects had for me.
It’s About Your Abilities
For IT professionals and those inspiring to become so, the decision to become certified has definitely crossed your mind. The question most have is if it will improve their resume, or if it will open up more doors for their careers.

I have seen both sides of this question proposed, that yes it definitely helps, while others say it doesn’t matter. What it boils down to, is your skills. What can you do? Employers have problems which need answers; they want to know if you can fix those errors, so they can provide a better product or service for their clients.
Get Educated
If you can not provide those answers, then training and education is something you have to go after. IT certifications are designed to provide training for specialized fields to meet employer’s needs. Each certification course has specific objectives and concepts which have to be mastered in order to score high on certification exams. The important thing to remember is that it is the practice and training which each certification provides which is important to employers. Through these courses you are gaining skills which set you apart from your competition. Learning to solve problems and provide answers is where you will become an asset to your employer.
Branch Out
The IT industry is constantly changing, and because of these changes, it becomes difficult to stay on top of all of the new technology. Certifications make this easy, by providing IT professionals with a simple and easy way to earn more training, updating their skills to the latest and greatest of the IT world. The IT industry is special because it promotes constant learning, the more you know, the more employment opportunities you will find; after all; it’s about your skills.
