Ipoh: A Graceful City

Ipoh Railway Station is the biggest landmark of the city. It is quite impressive. The station features both Gothic and Moorish architecture aided with modern establishment. Some people call “Taj mahal of Ipoh." The compound of the Railway Station comprises of Ipoh tree, a poisonous tree whose sap facilitated people to make fatal dart for their blow pipes. Beautiful garden surrounds this place.

So for visitors arriving by rail, it is a welcome entry to the city.

In the list of other worth visiting destinations are neocolonial style building and Ipoh Clock Tower. Ipoh Tower is in the memory of the first British Resident J.W.W. Birch who was assassinated by Malay chieftains. Food is another specialty for which Ipoh is famous. "Hor Fun" the famous Ipoh noodles is one of the most palatable foods prepared through Chinese cooking style. Fish Balls are very popular amongst the tourists.
