Visit Las Vegas and Have a Great Time

By: Mikemulkern
Las Vegas known at "The Entertainment Capital of the World" is located in southeastern Nevada, USA. With its notorious nightlife it is also known as "Sin City" due to its gambling and prostitution history. Today it is well know for its resorts, casinos, shopping and Broadway and Hollywood type shows.

Being the only state in the United States to allow legalized gambling, Nevada attracts people from all over the country and world to the Las Vegas casinos. Many movies and television shows feature Las Vegas and its nightlife. The Las Vegas Strip, where most of the action is, is lit up in neon lights.

Bugsy Siegel's Flamingo Hotel became the first hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in 1946. Nevada had already legalized gambling and this hotel was the first of many with their casinos to open. Las Vegas, which became a city in 1911, was beginning to grow.

Today there is a huge variety of motels, hotels, and resorts to stay depending on your budget and lifestyle. The large mega-hotels are ultra luxurious but are very costly. If you have a car and can stay off the strip you can get a nice hotel at a good price.

Head back to the strip at night. It's very cool in the desert at night and comfortable to walk around after dark. But with all the lights turned on it's an amazing spectacle. Head out for a meal at a world famous restarant and take in a famous Las Vegas show. Try your luck in one of the many casinos.

Save some money for the casinos. Even if you are not loaded you can have fun playing the slot machines or just watching all the activity going on. If you don't know how to play all of the casino games, the casinos set aside time each day to give lessons. Don't forget the shows and nightclub acts by the country's best performers.

Las Vegas is a very interesting city even if you don't gamble. Rent a car and visit the local Spring Mountains or take a drive to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. There is something for everyone at Las Vegas. Put it on your vacation list.
