There are Beautiful Old Buildings to See in Leeds

Leeds is a quaint and wealthy city, which is centrally placed in the North of England. The City is well-known as the commercial and cultural capital of the North and has long been known for its large manufacturing industry, which is still going strong.

From stunning buildings to historic sites, Leeds boasts some pretty things to do and see.

One of the city's favourite delights is Kirkstall Abbey, which is a historic abbey located in the outskirts of the city. It is thought to be one of britains most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey. construction of the abbey began in 1152 & it took more than seventy five years to finish. The historic abbey is now a Grade 1 listed building.

In addition to Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds boasts plenty more things to do, including the historic Kirkgate Market.

Leeds boasts a wonderful shopping centre, which boasts a store to suit any budget. in fact, you will find high end stores in the city's Victoria Quarter, including branches of harvey nicholls, Flannels & other designer shops.

In the headrow centre, you will locate less expensive high street shops such as primark, warehouse & claire's accesories.

If you would rather spend your time in Leeds doing more arty activities, you will be happy to understand that the city has 9 exciting museums and galleries. These include the armley mills industrial museum & the fabulous Leeds city art gallery, so you are sure to find something to entertain you.

If fast-paced city life gets too much, you will be happy to understand that Leeds has some pretty green spaces & beautiful parks, including the award-winning millennium gardens. These pretty gardens were constructed at a cost of ?12 million to celebrate the year 2000 & were jointly funded by Leeds city council & the Millennium Commission. The gardens were awarded a medal at the 2004 Chelsea Flower Show.

Leeds has fantastic nightlife, which begs to be experienced. Whether you'd rather have a peaceful drink in one of the city's rustic public houses or a glass of wine at one of Leeds' exclusive cocktail bars, you'll have a wonderful evening here.

Post-drink, why not hit the nightclubs? Leeds has some fantastic nightclubs that cater to any style of music, which means that you'll be spoiled for choice.

Leeds also has many live music venues, which include the Cockpit. These venues cater mainly to alternative music & attract local and touring bands.
