What Is There in Sacramento

Sacramento has been one of the most favorite business destinations right since James Marshall discovered gold near Sacramento in 1848, leading to the famous gold rush. Since then, Sacramento has provided various business opportunities, with people arriving by boat on the Sacramento river, to present, where the Sacramento International Airport serves as the main gateway for the business travelers. It connects to major US cities as well as some over seas destinations.

But what sets Sacramento apart is that it is also a good place to unwind, making it a perfect destination for mixing business with pleasure. Sacramento features some of the best hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping experience, as well as various historical attractions that makes this city a fun filled business destination. You can also visit the famous Napa Valley, which is less than 60 miles south west of Sacramento, and can be reached in little over an hour, traveling mostly through Interstate 80.

Sacramento is a pleasant city to visit, due to the number of trees planted on the city streets, both in the commercial as well as the sub-division area, and is popularly referred to as the City of Trees. Sacramento is a very environmentally friendly city, and apart from the tree-lined avenues, there are several parks all over the city, which you can go to unwind, or simply bask in the sunshine.

If you can, you should plan your business trip to Sacramento during one of its festivals, which are held generally during summer, when the climate is just right. Jazz Jubilee is an annual Jazz event held every summer over the Memorial Day weekend. It is the world's largest Dixieland Jazz festival, and is a major hit among both locals, as well as the tourists. Music Circus is another festival celebrated in Sacramento for the past 50 years in a row. It showcases some of the best musicals from Broadway.

If you are a big fan of American history, you should visit Sutter's fort. It is here that Sacramento's founder John Sutter used to reside, as well as use it as his business center. Built in 1839, it is located in today's Midtown area, and there are daily tours to the place that can help you understand the history of the city. Apart form this, you can visit the beautiful State Capitol building, which is build on the lines of the Capitol Building in DC, and also various museums and performing arts centers.

If you are more into outdoor adventure, you can go hiking or biking on the 23-mile American River Parkway. There are also other options like white water rafting, day trips on the delta, and golfing. While you can enjoy some of the best wines from the Napa Valley in Sacramento, for a more authentic feel you can travel down to Napa Valley itself. Here you can take a tour of any of the various wineries, and engage in wine tasting, and also learn a thing or two about wines in the process!

Towards the evenings, Sacramento offers a fantastic nightlife with a range of nightclubs, as well some of the finest restaurants, located in Old Sacramento. So after a hard day's work, you can put your hair down, and enjoy this beautiful city.
