Bonnie Springs Horseback Riding

By: Robert W. Benjamin

Bonnie Springs Ranch at Nevada is absolutely beautiful. It takes you back in time to the Wild West and a mining town (1880's). The Bonnie Springs Ranch is a replica of a mining town that existed more than a hundred years ago and visiting it today is simply outstanding.

About Bonnie Springs Ranch

Originally built in 1843 as a stopover for the wagon trains going to California along the Old Spanish Trail, Bonnie Springs Ranch lies in the heart Nevada’s iconic Red Rock Canyon. The ranch has natural oasis habitat, from the spring water surfacing here.

Things to do at Bonnie Springs Ranch

This is an old western-themed amusement park. Here you will find horseback riding, a zoo, the "Old Nevada" western town, a miniature train, a 46-room motel, and a restaurant.

  • Wild Wild West.
The sidewalks are made of boards that make that squeaking sound as you walk over them. You will notice saloons, which aren't the same as a common day bar, stagecoaches that were replaced by cars decades ago, and even tumbleweeds that seem the epitome of the Wild West but are never encountered.

  • Horse back riding in the West
Experience this truly amazing horseback riding through the Red Rock Mountains. Horseback Riding is $60.00 per person for a one hour guided trail ride.
  • Many Activities for Families
Among the family favorites is the petting zoo where kids can pet the different animals and learn a little about them. Other favorites include the miniature train, the cowboys and cowgirls, as well as the posse show that allows kids to find the bad guy! This is a whole lot of fun and families with both young and old children will love all there is to do.
  • Cowboy Style Gunfights on the Streets
Adults and older children will also love the gunfights that occur spontaneously in the streets. You pay to enter the western town to see the. They are simulated but look so real! The melodrama that is recreated here comes straight from the 1830's and ends with the hanging of the town's villain. Of course, nobody is really hung and it's just a stunt man doing the work, but it seems very real.

You will find something to enjoy at Bonnie Springs Old Nevada. And it is a good day break from the glitters of Las Vegas.
